The Genesis
Why Alkemi? A common refrain… And we are always delighted to answer. The plain simple answer is that we believe in Magic! Crazy? Not yet!
Alkemi Decor is all about magical transformations of décor & more. People miss the “decor” in our brand name & company name. And yes, that is what we set out to do, magically transform décor, just as you wish, with our products. And our true inspiration, the Alchemists of the yore, who spent years and years studying Philosophy, Astrology, Astronomy, and Science with a view to change base substance/metals into articles of value/gold/silver, uplift humanity through magical cures, and work on ways and means to extend human life.
Alkemi was born, both literally and metaphorically from the word Alchemy and it is our endeavor to convert every home to an Alkemi home, beautiful, magical, and special. Just like you!
The Action
As we set out to action this intent, we realized, to be this magician, “digital” would be our wand and thus began our journey. Founded in January 2011 we pioneered the concept of retailing on-demand, customizable murals, then moved on to, on-demand, customizable blinds and then to curtains & upholstery.
We designed and sourced direct to print designs, obtained a range of suitable materials, and invested in digital machinery and processes to enable “mass customization”. We strived to be at the vanguard of the “digital decor” movement of the country and continue to do so to date.
When in magic, you don’t realize all things that are magical, thus spake a well-wisher. “As is” is as much choice as change and is as magical when adorned and thus began our “as is” a digital collection of ready-made curtains, fabrics, wallpapers, decals & more.
And the show goes on, as we continue our quest for every home and Alkemi home!
The Denouement
With a decade gone and forever to go… we see no final act but a journey of eternity. When magic is really the reality is magical!
